I read this for the second time, and found I didn't comment before. So sorry.

Memory loss is a favorite of mine. I loved how Dean kept trying to imagine how it was before, getting some things right, probably, and other things wrong, probably (he never bottoms, right?). I think eventually he might figure that out; he'll always do what Sam wants, so that's probably how it was between them.
